What people are saying about Venice
This is a great tour, really enjoyed our boat trip to the beautiful islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. The only thing I can say that let it down, was that you don't get enough time on the islands to have a look properly. Personally i would have liked to have spent more time on thefirst two islands and missed out the last one. Also the tour guide was a little ignorant. She marched off on the islands, meaning that people that can't walk very fast missed out on what she was saying. She didn't tell us anything when we set off, juat said follow me, and we were wondering all the way down to the boat, if we'd actually got the right group. Luckily we had. All in all.... a really great experience! Would recommend.
The time flies. My son wanted to see the glass and having, what seemed, a quick look we only had 20 mins to checkout the rest. Most shops selling glass. Surprised the items we bought didn't have makers mark, although in glass blowers shop? Are they selling 'fake' stuff they complain about? I paid E15, not mark worthy, supposedly reduced from E30? Burano, really lovely to view, colour, bridges over water, lovely little eateries. Could have spent the day there. Good excuse to return to Venice again, just LoveIt - well Italy in general really.
I wish we had longer in Murano. The shop was huge with hundreds of items but we only had 20 minutes to get our purchases and be back at the boat. A lot of that time involved queuing at the till. The glass items were gorgeous. Torcello was a waste of time. It was quite a long walk to the shops and church, then had to walk straight back to the boat. Burano was beautiful with all the different coloured houses.
Very good trip, excellent staff and well organised. Only comments. Tour guide presentation intrusive it was delivered loudly in several languages. Murano visit only included glass blowing and no time to see what looked a great location. Would like more time at Burano and less at Torchello. That said you need to got back independently.
Would have liked to have a bit more time on each island but when you only have a day it fits a lot in one trip. We discovered that it is possible to do the trips via the water buses and you could do it on a day ticket but if getting back for a cruise ship you need to be sure that you are going to get on a return boat on time.
