What people are saying about Venice

Such an amazing experience. There were 8 of us plus the guide and we sat in darkness, waiting for the lights to be turned on and once they were, the mosaics were breathtaking! Our guide gave us a history of the basilica and then we went down to the crypt where St Mark's tomb once was and now the tombs of the Patriarchs of Venice lay. We then went to view the Pala d'Or and the high altar, both amazing! Our guide Elena was amazing (I know I uae the word a lot!) and I would highly recommend this tour. It may seem pricey but so worth it!

The Doges palace was larger and more impressive in real life than expected. St.Marks was closed on the ground floor due to flood damage from last November, but the interior could be viewed well from the upper balcony. The tour guide Monica was excellent, very clear, knowledgeable and considerate. It is worth booking a small tour to skip the ticket queues, as everyone still has to queue for security checks as well. We were also offered a free admission into a glass factory nearby at the end of the tour which was great.

It was a really beautiful guided walk through Venice. The guide was a super kind Venetian and she talked about the history, culture and lifestyle of the city. She also provided a lot of tips for us, some of them we ended up trying and were great suggestions.

We really enjoyed the concert evening. But you shouldn't go to the concert with small children. Behind our row sat a family with a schoolchild who was talking the whole time until the break.
