Docents are available throughout the carrier and are eager to share their stories, anecdotes and statistics, creating a picture of just how important the USS Midway was to the U.S. Navy. Most guests spend 3 to 4 hours exploring this historic aircraft carrier and learning its history.

The included audio guide, available in 8 languages, will help you explore the dozens of highlighted areas across the massive ship.

There are family-oriented activities throughout the Museum. Included are 3 types of flight simulators, music videos, short films, climb-aboard aircraft and cockpits, and more. The Museum is located at the Navy Pier in downtown San Diego.

Very informative tours presented by former/retired military and/or spouses. Docents share personal experiences and are happy to still serve their country by honouring the USS Midway, its history and it’s vitality. The USS Midway Museum is a surreal snapshot of those who serve and protect our freedom - both past, present & future

The most interesting surprise was the veterans who’d served on the Midway (most in the Vietnam War) and they told stories about their flights and experiences! But a well-organized follow-the-signs tour of many of the sections of USS Midway, even below-deck. Even our 7-yr-old twin boys never got bored. Lots of aircraft on the flight deck to explore and sit in. Excellent history lessons.

I climbed the ship for five hours and had a wonderful time! I was surprised how much lower the overheads were than the Arleigh-Burke I was on. But I mananaged, all 6’ 5” of me, even climbing up to PriFly. I had an absolute blast and am hoping to bring my little nephew there in February. I would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in aviation and/or ships, but especially for those with a particular interest in Naval Aviation.
