Full description
Discover England’s most beautiful lake with a 1-day Ullswater Lake boat ticket. Pay once and sail all day, stopping to hike some of the scenic trails of the Lake District, enjoy afternoon tea at a traditional café, or look for rare red squirrels at Lanty’s Tarn.

The Ullswater Valley is a spectacular place to visit whatever the season. And from on board the fleet of steamer boats - including the world’s oldest passenger vessel - you will have access to a range of attractions. There are 2 piers, at Glenridding and Pooley Bridge, both offering distinct experiences and a wealth of attractions. The boat also stops en route at Howtown.

Hop off to hike the Howtown to Glenridding trail, a low-level 7-mile (11-kilometer) walk in landscape that inspired Wordsworth’s “The Daffodils.” Enjoy a traditional Cumbrian cream tea against fantastic lake views from the terrace of the Inn on the Lake at Glenridding. See the original slipway used by water speed record holder Donald Campbell at Jenkins’ Field. Or skipper your own vessel at St. Patrick's Boat Landing.

Hire a bike and cycle off-road, keeping an eye out for peregrine falcons and buzzards. Explore Martindale to discover one of the Lakeland's least visited valleys, including the oldest red deer forest in England. Explore quintessential English and Cumbrian villages, such as Askham.

This is just a small selection of the things you can do. The Ullswater Steamers Shop and Information Centre carries comprehensive information about the area and Lake District for many more options.

On board the historic steamers you will find fully licensed bars, while the Glenridding Pier House serves teas, coffees and light refreshments, and provides dog waterbowls, talking telescopes, landscape interpretation panels, bike racks, and electric car charge points.

Excellent Day Out

Paid £8 to park the car and found parking for only £3 in the village (Pooley Bridge) and also free parking later!!! Really enjoyed the Cruise, fabulous scenery and fantastic weather. Pooley Bridge to Glenridding (around an hr) so next time will book single journeys. Staff were very friendly on the boat and had drinks and biscuits on board. Already recommended this trip to friends.
