Full description
You'll begin with a drive from Rome through the surrounding countryside along Via Tiburtina. As you approach the Hilltop Town of Tivoli, you will discover the beauty of the surrounding land including its gems: the Hadrians Villa and the Villa d'Este.

You'll stop for a 2-hour tour of Hadrian’s Villa, which is one of the most marvelous buildings mankind has ever produced. Hadrinas Villa is like a reproduction of the emperors' worlds which sits in a complex as big as a mid-sized city.

Following that exploration you'll have time for lunch at Restaurant La Sibilla, just next to the ancient Roman temples and on the top of the cliffs. Delicious food will be served on the terrazza, overlooking the Valley of the Aniene and just beside the Temple of the Sibilla Tiburtina.

In the afternoon you will go for a 2-hour stroll in the beautiful Gardens of Villa D’Este: a magnificent late-Renaissance villa built by the architect Pirro Ligorio for the Cardinal D’Este, Lucretia Borgia’s son. Not influential enough to become a pope, the cardinal created in the outskirts of Rome what is probably the most beautiful park of the entire Italian Renaissance.
