With the proper instructions, I was able to get from the Thessaloniki station to the site alone. The guide was very courteous, I grasped each one and confirmed that all were ready before leaving. They will guide you to the photo spots and take you to the sights efficiently, and each will give you enough time to walk around. It was very good.

Travelled by rail from Thessaloniki instead of the bus as we got to visit three and see all six monasteries. The guide and driver from Thrones Tours were excellent, fun a d full of great snippets of information. Can be a little bit stressful changing trains as ours was running late but the second train/ changeover will wait for the first train if late. Highly enjoyable but long day. Take plenty of reading material for the train journeys.

Meteora excellent train trip not so much.

Hi there, If you are a non-Greek speaking traveler with only a short time to see Meteora, and you are unfamiliar with Greece, I think taking the bus tour to Meteora would be better (or private car). Finding the right platform to board train at Thessalonika, and the changing of the train enroute were stressful and we were delayed. It was not particularly scenic and is basically just a commuter train. I was a bit disappointed as was wanting a relaxing scenic, train trip, but it was not, and even though Meteora was magical and the tour there was excellent, the train trip was not. Probably with a bus you will get commentary as well and they will take a more direct route, and less delays. Nicola - travelled solo - January 2019
