What people are saying about The Everglades
We were impressed with our guide's knowledge of wildlife, geology, hydrology, history of European / American / Native American interactions and the early and late development of the Everglades area. She had a sympathetic understanding of the imagination and ignorance of Florida's developers from colonial times onward to the present, the challenges they faced and those they left to the present generation. I only wish I had a map of the routes we followed that I might retell our story better.
Don was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and showed us the orchids the bromeliads the ferns mangroves alligators birds and snails. Very peaceful and interesting and not too strenuous!
The tour consists of a half hour drive by coach out to the Everglades. Once you’re there you get on an Airboat with about 15 others and get a tour of the Everglades. This was great and we saw Alligators in the wild as well as an informative and fun tour. You’ll be in the air boat for around 45 minutes. We were given earplugs but make sure you take sun cream and a hat, it’s hot out there! Following this there was a 20 minute show where we saw alligators up close. Really fun and engaging part of the tour. After this, you have a bit of free time where there isn’t a great deal to do other than go to the cafe and gift shop before heading back to Miami Beach. It’s definitely worth doing If you’re in town!
A great trip within the marshes and the mangrove! We saw many alligators, nice birds and a lot of different plants ! The guide was really nice and offered us a great moment with great informations.
My kids aged 9 and 11 loved this. Great value for money, about 25 dollars vs 45 peg adult at Everglades city. Highly recommend this. Genuine review by family of 4 from Great Missenden near london. Uk. April 2019
