What people are saying about The Cologne Chocolate Museum
We were in Cologne for a couple of days to experience the Christmas markets and bought a group KoelnCard to cover the three of us. It was very useful, removed the headache of having the cash handy for travelling on the U-bahn and trains and I think we probably covered the cost of the card in that alone. In addition, we had good discounts at those two essential Cologne visits, the Chocolate museum and the Fragrance museum! Well worth the investment!
This is a really nice and fast way to go to the Chocolate Museum. I would only recommend to actually jump the queue and speak to the people at the ticket kiosk as there is no other machine to scan the bar code. However the museum itself is very nicely structured and this activity gives you the opportunity to go any time during the day booked, which we found it to be really useful.
I was only in town for a little over 24 hrs and to be honest, you don’t really need to take public transportation. Unless you plan on going away from city center. I did take the underground one time because I wanted to get somewhere quickly, but otherwise I walked to see the city and take pics, even in the light rain. Also you can’t use this to get a discount on the Museumcard.
Value for money; the KolnCard period of validity commences from the first use on public transport not from purchase time therefore you get the full benefit from the card. Additionally there are good discounts on various attraction as river Rhine boat tours, cable car trip, restaurants etc. I have no hesitations in recommending the purchase of the KolnCard.
We accidentally booked the tour not knowing it was in German. The tour guide was German but still did the tour for us and did a great job. The scooters were very nice and fun! I hope they add a English tour guide in the future. I wish the pickup location was closer to the other side of the river. It was too far away from all the attractions.
