What people are saying about Te Anau
Great day out with Geoff as our guide, going early to beat the crowds and pulling in spots the larger busses can’t. He gave options for the group as some wanted the hike and others did not. Made everyone happy, we did the helicopter glacier landing extra and it was incredible!
We did the drive up to Milford Sound the day before and promptly canceled our boat trip and booked this instead! The drive to Milford's worth it, but for a boat trip into what genuinely feels like wilderness (on a small boat and without constant helicopters!) BOOK THIS! It was great value, including a boat trip and a very amusing coach trip in a geriatric bus. The free tea and coffee on both boat trips is a winner :) Loved the experience - it's strangely tiring so I wouldn't plan anything too ambitious later in the day...!
I’d love to say in particular how much we appreciated the knowledgeable commentary of,our guide, Tom, who provided among other things an excellent summary of much early NZ history.
We enjoyed a lot and it was a great day trip.We will never forget the incredible movement that we had. But I must say something about go orange bus driver who did not sit us first why I don’t know and when we tried to get into the bus he scolded on us (family) and he allowed us to get into the bus in the last movement unnecessarily he did us upset start of trip .We never expected that worse experience. But all over the trip was an amazing we enjoyed the water fall as well as the sightseeing’s and blue water where we felt pleasant to see blue water.
The coach and cruise is something I can fully recommend. The staff member in the 'Go Orange' office was so helpful and cheerful and happily answered a few questions about the trip that we weren't sure about. Shayle, the coach driver was outstanding. Not only was he a great driver but he gave a brilliant commentary which included a bit of humour too sometimes. From the coach we boarded the 'Milford Monarch' catamaran where we experienced a cruise almost out to the Tasman Sea and back. The commentary given to the passengers on that was also very informative and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful. We cruised for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. It was back on the coach then for our return journey to The Anau with the odd stop to admire some of the beautiful scenery and a nice walk up to 'The Chasm'. It was a brilliant day out and great value for money, a trip I can fully recommend to anyone thinking about going on it. Thank you 'Go Orange' staff for a brilliant trip.
