Full description
Stepantsminda (foremly Kazbegi), is a townlet in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of north-eastern Georgia. Historically and ethnographically, the town is part of the Khevi province, and is at the center of the Kazbegi Municipality.

According to tradition, Stepantsminda, which literally means "Saint Stephan", was named so after a Georgian Orthodox monk Stephan, who constructed a hermitage at this location on what later became the Georgian Military Highway.

Your day will begin with hotel collection, and on your Kazbegi Mountain tour you will explore such lush sites as the Ananuri Castle on the Aragvi River, the Zhinvali Dam (a hydroelectric dam) the SNO Castle and the Gergeti Trinity Church. At the conclusion of your day, you will be driven back to Tbilisi and returned to your point of origin.
