I have done three tours from Tbilisi with three different comapnies, and the one organised by Friendly Georgia was by far the best of them, and also one of the best I have ever done! Our small group of 8 persons was very skilfully managed by our lovely, smiling and extremely well informed guide Khatuna and also the boss of the company Alex for a part of it too. Both cared for us a lot and took care of every detail of the trip. We made stops at many interesting places (e.g. the Zhinvali reservoir, the Ananuri fortess, the peace monument in Gudauri etc.) before we reached Stepantsminda and Gergeti with the amazing Gergeti church with the backdrop of Kazbegi, very clear on that sunny day. We had ample time for a meal at a lovely garden restaurant, snacks and toilet, but with that we still managed to catch the cable car back to Gadauri (lasting for one hour, optional). Khatuna provided us with very detailed information about all the places we saw. In a word, it was just a perfect day!
The BEST tour that I have ever taken!!! This was by far my most favorite experience that I had in my 10 days spent in Georgia. The tour takes you to the most beautiful nature places and the Gudauri + Kazbegi Mountains absolutely blow you away because the tour gives you an additional option (not included but NOT expensive!) to take a one hour, 30 lari cable car through them. If I could take this tour again, I totally would. My guide Alex was so informative, friendly, welcoming and he really knew where to take our small group of about 8 people! We got to watch people paraglide in a canyon, Zhinvali, eat lunch at a traditional Georgian cafe in Kazbegi, and I go to meet some extremely friendly, wonderful people who I grew close to by the end of the day-long tour. 10/10 would recommend to ANYONE to take this; I can't recommend it enough!!!! I especially love how the group size is small because it is more personal and easier to enjoy. You will NOT regret taking this! Enjoy :)
We were picked sharply at 9.00am from the designated location and our guide Guga ensured that we were at each place on time and were dropped back sharp at 8.00pm. We were given a very comprehensive update on all the locations, history of Georgia and many other folk tales by Guga and kept us entertained all the way. Vehicle was comfortable and the driver was excellent. As it was a very clear day, we enjoyed all the places visited and took a mountain of photos for memories. We are highly impressed by the skills and knowledge of Guga and thank him for making this trip memorable and extremely enjoyable.
This is one of the best tours that I have ever had. Our guide Irakli quickly understood what the guests on his tour were interested in and he added in things that he thought that we would find interesting. he was very knowledgeable and treated us with amazing Georgian hospitality, stopping when we wanted to take unexpected photos and making his guests who were all seasoned travellers have a great experience that we will talk about for a long time. The churches and towns we visited where extremely interesting and beautiful and the meal we had was excellent. overall this was great value
Strongly recommended. Wonderful sites. The cave town and Mtskheta cathedral our favourites. Katherine was a great personal tour guide! The lunch at a small local restaurant in Gori was exceptional! Would go back just for that! For some reason after hotel pick-up, we had to stop at the office to "register" - but it was really a "hello, enjoy your trip". Unnecessary stop in our view.
