What people are saying about Tangier
Carlos is a nice tour guide though we could hardly understand his English. We had a wonderful morning in Tangier, spending some time to the scenic spots including the Cap Spartel and the Hercules Cave, then an early lunch at a traditional Moroccan style restaurant. Quite nice food but hope we could try more dishes and larger portion. The local tour guide then brought us to take a walk at the Medina, a local market at the city centre. Good experiences walking through these narrow streets but honestly not feeling comfortable that the guides lead us to two local shops selling handmade textiles and spices, and we actually knew that the local guide gains commission from these shops. Apart from these hard sell parts exactly the same as the style in tours in China, Tangier was a nice city. The tour was a good choice for those who’d like to explore Morocco within a day, though we had to wake up very early in the morning and spend hours in travelling between two countries.
Our guide Mohammed was a very good driver, we came across a few very dangerous drivers on our path and he was always careful, courteous and we always felt safe. He gave us enough information about what we've seen on our journey and politely stopped when we wanted to take a picture. The guide in Chefchaoun was also quite good and heeded to our wished not to have lunch or be taken shopping, so all in all the trip was fantastic, we saw the Blue City and Hercules Caves and we would gladly recommend it to anyone!
Our guide, Abdul, was quite knowledgeable. He did, however, seem to have his own agenda even when we expressed our particular desires. We were interested in shopping in Asilah where the vendors were not as aggressive, but he clearly had relationships with the vendors in Tangiers and steered us to items of no interest to us. With this said, he was congenial and tried to please us. The driver, Sayeed, was lovely, gentle, polite, and we always felt safe. It was a marvelous experience and we thank them both!
A very well organised and good value trip with, in our case, an excellent english-speaking guide full of stories and character. Lots to see with the itinerary varied to suit the weather if too hot. A long day from Seville, but worth the effort for a special day out. A fair bit of walking in Tangier itself but several stop opportunities and an excellent loch with traditional fare.
Loved our day out to Chefchaouen. After being taken by a taxi from the airport when we first arrived in Morocco, we decided to pre-arrange our day to Chefchaouen. It was seamless. Our driver picked us up from the train station and even dropped us off at our Riad. He was willing to answer whatever questions we had about the region. Very interesting. Relaxing and stress free.
