What people are saying about Szentendre
The town of Szentendre is a must see for any tourist visiting Hungary. It is mere miles from Budapest but one is transported to a different moment in time courtesy of this visit. Mike (our tour guide) was an exuberant and kind tour guide with a great personality. We appreciated being shown around the town by him. All in all, a lovely way to spend a few hours in Hungary.
We booked this trip for our final full day in Budapest having spent 11 days between the Grand prix then sightseeing we were looking for a more relaxing day trip and this certainly provided it. A lovely 1 1/2 hour scenic cruise to reach the charming little town. We spent a nice 5 hours just strolling and exploring the pretty little streets, trying the delicious langos, icecream and beverages.
I totally enjoyed this trip. It was well organized and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. As with any group tour, it is a challenge to balance the time for individual exploring and the need for the group to move on. I felt I had enough time to explore the towns, but wished I had more time at the large church. If you want to go to the top of it, then don't delay, don't buy admission to anything else, and make sure you are in good shape! Oh, and the lunch was delicious.
Christine and Laslow were a great team. The info provided was very accurate and clear. Christine is an excellent communicator and Laslow made us feel safe at all times. Hope to spend time with them again.
We enjoyed the trip but the guide was hard to hear. Not enough spare time and lack of public toilets were the negatives.
