An all-singing, all-dancing cast takes on this wistful love story, studded with infectious songs including ‘Somewhere’, ‘Maria’, ‘I Feel Pretty’, ‘America’, ‘Cool’ and of course ‘Tonight’.
This is Sydney’s most spectacular event: an astonishing purpose-built outdoor venue is created in the Royal Botanic Gardens on Sydney Harbor. Arrive at 5:00 PM as the sun sets over the city skyline and take in the view of the famous Sydney skyline with a glass of bubbles. Meet for dinner at one of the pop-up bars and restaurants, then sit back and enjoy the enthralling show, complete with live orchestra and fireworks.
West Side Story on Sydney Harbor on 17th April 2019 is a relaxed performance.
This style of performance is designed to ensure young adults with a disability and their families, or anyone who enjoys a relaxed environment, are able to enjoy the experience together. This relaxed performance will allow guests to come and go from their seats during the performance and venue lights will remain on at low levels. Some lighting or sound features of the show may also be adjusted minimally, but there are no significant differences to the production.
The performance will be audio-described, and those who wish to will be able to read captions on handheld devices. A ‘Quiet Space’ will also be made available if a break from the show is needed and our staff can offer advice on other spaces if needed.

Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, at Fleet Steps, Mrs. Macquarie’s Point, Sydney (not at Sydney Opera House) Tickets will be available at the box office 1 hour prior to the performance, under the same name as your GetYourGuide booking. • Please come prepared so that you are as comfortable as possible, and ready to support the performers, who will carry on singing in the rain. Ponchos will be available to purchase at the event
• All the operas have English subtitles projected above and on the stage of the stage. In 2019 La Bohème, Turandot and Madama Butterfly will also have Simplified Chinese subtitles.
