Full description
Travel into the scenic Blue Mountains with a local, knowledgeable driver and guide on this 11-hour excursion. Weave through the unique and picturesque mountain villages of Blaxland, Leura, Wentworth Falls and Lawson. Enjoy views over stunning eucalypt forest and age-old rock formations as you travel through the scenic Blue Mountains. The view is spectacular.

Drive through the town of Katoomba, the gateway to the region. The town features heritage cottages and many cute cafés and restaurants. At Scenic World, enjoy 360-degree views of the Jamison Valley and see the imposing 3 Sisters. Hear the Aboriginal story about the creation of the Three Sisters rock formation. Ride the world's steepest Railway and enjoy the awesome views from the Cableway and from the glass-floored Skyway as it glides between cliff tops. Stroll along the boardwalk, through pristine world heritage listed wilderness.

Enter Jenolan Caves via the impressive Grand Arch — Australia's best known and most extensive underground limestone cave system. Join an informative and fully accredited guided tour of Lucas Cave. Explore the world’s oldest and Australia’s most breath-taking cave systems with its incredible formations and pure underground rivers. CSIRO scientists estimate that the limestone here dates back to at least 340 million years. Located in the wilderness of the Blue Mountains near the town of Oberon, you can take a guided tour to suit your fitness level from reasonably easy, to challenging.

The guides would love to answer any questions you have about wildlife, geology and everything in between. Visit the mysterious and enchanting Blue Lake — keep an eye out for the rare and elusive platypus. See the beautiful Caves Guesthouse; originally a 1920s holiday retreat for Sydney's rich and famous. To finish your day, have the chance of seeing wild kangaroos and wallabies up close.

Overall the tour was good. Nice views at the blue mountains but we only had 1.5 hrs which definitely was not enough time. Could have used 2.5 as we took a path down that was all rainforest and took up most of our time and we couldn’t even see the blue mountains. Our tour guide Daryn from GrayLine was very knowledgeable about the history of Australia, however there should have been more breaks in between the talking, rather than the whole way there. Additionally there was an “extra” hour given to us at the caves before our tour, however the only thing to do there was go to the cafe, because all of the other caves were paid tours only (could only explore a small lake nearby). This hour would have been more beneficial at the blue mountains.

A must see while in Sydney

Amazing sights and guided tour of the cave. Blue Mountains is a self guided tour and recommend getting the rail pass to save time. Wish I could have spent more time at the Blue mountains felt rushed. Jenolah caves has a guided tour that is well informed. With plenty of time to grab food and take pictures. After the caves we were able to get up close to a wallaby.

Great day trip!

Great tour guide with some good knowledge to keep the drive entertaining. Blue Mountains provide an epic view, just wish we could of spent longer there to explore. Lucas cave again was a pretty amazing sight, and would of liked to do some of the other more challenging caves. But all in all a great day trip that anyone could do easily
