What people are saying about Swakopmund
We had a morning trip with Len in his Mitsubishi 4x4 van (3L V6). Comfortable and capable. Len was very knowledgeable and was easy to chat to. We headed south through the Salt Works (permission granted to the tour) with an explanation on how it is all produced. Across the marshy area with the long grass and into the lower sand dunes. Stopped at his favourite spot for viewing pink flamingoes. Brilliant colours offset against the blue water of the ponds and the green vegetation surrounding coupled with the sand as a background. Further along we started to climb into the big dunes. Racing up and down for quite a while to reach the viewing spot for Sandwich Harbour. Bubbly, fresh oysters, game snacks and soft drinks all laid out on a table in style for a late morning brunch. It was then up and down over some steep dune edges which was quite exhilarating. Back to Walvis Bay harbour jetty. All up 4 hours. Very well worth it for the variety and general entertainment. Strongly recommend.
Jean Pierre ( JP) was an outstanding tour guide ...where nothing was too much trouble! We did the Spitzkoppe Guided Tour and marvelled at the rock formations, cave paintings and scenery. He tailored our itinary not only to what we wanted to see but our physical ability! He provided an excellent lunch with wine and beer in an awesome location. If you are visiting Namibia...then Red Dune Safaris are highly recommended ! Thank you JP
