Full description
From an architectural point of view, St. Petersburg was always more a European than a Russian city. And yet, despite the Western secularism, the city remained undoubtedly Orthodox. Since then, the Orthodox tradition has permeated the whole of St. Petersburg's history and religious makeup. Take a three-hour guided tour to gain a better understanding of this story.

St. Prince Alexander Nevsky was one of the first heavenly patrons of the Northern capital. During the tour, you will visit the chapel of Ksenia of Petersburg and the Alexander Nevsky Lavra. The Chapel of Xenia the Blessed at the Smolensk cemetery is probably the most famous place of worship in St. Petersburg. Reliable information about her childhood and origin was not preserved, but the legends that fanned the name of Xenia the Blessed are a great many.

The Alexander Nevsky Lavra is a man’s monastery founded in 1710 at the behest of Emperor Peter I at the alleged site of the Battle of Neva. At the end of the 18th century the monastery received the highest church status of the Lavra. In 1724, the monastery found its relic, that of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, which is still stored in the Trinity Cathedral of Laurels.
