Great way to get around and see sights but not always reliable

I did a complete round trip which took about 1 hour 40. Then stopped at a couple stops. Wish I’d stopped at each one looked around then went to next. Did night tour but first bus was full so couldn’t go on. Waited over hour for last bus and again was full and could only allow a few on. People in queue kicked off and the police were called. They did however get another bus for the rest of the queue. Glad I stuck it out tho as Rome at night is so beautiful - again did a full round trip in lights. In the morning I caught a bus to go to my Colosseum tour but it waited at bus stop for 20 mins so I missed my tour time. Check the bus is going straight away as pointless sitting on it going nowhere!

The guide was very good, there were way too many people on this tour.

The guide did a great job, despite the fact he had 40 people on the tour. It was hard to hear if you were in the back. People on the tour were all fighting to get to the front in the busy Vatican museums. It was terrible. It was super busy and if you didn't get to the front, you couldn't hear. Your company needs to keep its tours to 20 at the most. It was frustrating and difficult to enjoy at times because of the number of people. Plus, we waited 30 minutes at the museums to actually start. It was frustrating.

Best Hop-on Hop-off bus out of the many available

There are a number of operators in Rome and I am glad I chose this one. It is slightly more expensive then the others but this meant that for some of the other companies the lines at the bus stops were so long that people had to let one or two busses go pass as there was no space on the top. This one was busy as well but there was always a seat on the top. Stops are very conveniently located and busses run so frequent, you really never have to wait for the next one.

Good information but not always easy to hear .

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant but I found that she walked and spoke so fast that it wasn’t always easy to keep up with her pace or hear what she was saying. This was not helped by the fact that it was so busy and packed with groups that it was difficult to keep up with her as it was so crowded. However, I think it’s better to go with a guide than without. Maybe bringing your own earphones would have helped with the sound clarity.

Excellent staff across the company, routing needs to improve

Good for use in Vatican city and for seeing a few of the key Rome tourist places but two things about the bus. Firstly, the route needs to be bigger or run a second circuit. Secondly, the bus stops are really unclear when you are in the street looking for it. The staff on the buses are exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful. The 'inclusives' for site visits are good. Value for money? Probably.
