Built-in 1789, St. Louis Cemetery Number One has stood for more than two hundred years. See the tombs of notable former residents of New Orleans including Marie Laveau, Homer Plessy, and even the empty tomb of Nick Cage. No one should leave New Orleans without visiting one of these 'cities of the dead.'

But it’s more than just the notable tombs, on this tour you will learn the about the burial customs, traditions, and people that made New Orleans what it is today. Take a walk with through New Orleans' history, seen through the eyes of those who have not yet left.
  • Entrance to the cemetery. The cemetery is closed to the public and you cannot enter St. Louis Cemetery Number One without a guided tour.
