Top sights in Berlin
Berlin truly is an amazing city. It has so much history. There is so much to see and so much to do. And the River Spree flows right through the city; East and West. So, why not see the sites in style? Here is some of what you can discover by boat on the Spree.
A boat tour along the spree will help you see this wonderfully painted remainder of the Berlin Wall while missing the crowds.
You can pass under this wonderful bridge from the water, and enjoy its fine architecture, as well as riverside views of the lush Tiergarten.
Located in the Tiergarten, this palace has been the residence of the president of Germany since 1994. If you can see the presidential flag flying then you know the president is in residence.
One of the most extravagant buildings in the city, the Berlin Cathedral is definitely one to tick off the sightseeing list.
The Museum Island is a world heritage site and home to 5 of the top museums in Berlin. From the Spree you can see these magnificant buildings in all their glory!
Spring and summer in Berlin are glorious. So from May-September you can enjoy clear skies and warm weather, which are the perfect time to cruise along the Spree.
There are a number of different Spree tours avaliable, so you just have to pick the one that suits you best. Whether you want a full three course meal with the sights, or just a glass of wine to watch the world go by, it's up to you!

What people are saying about Spree River
We booked a tour for 5 people for 17:30. Got there 17:27, the operator has just rolled the bridge and refused to let us board, and just sailed away. We were infuriated, called the service, they told us to come again the next day, in which we indeed got a ride with no additional cost, but with a very bitter taste. The ride itself was smooth and comfortable, bar with drinks (be sure not to bring too large notes - these were simply not accepted!), audio guides worked well.
We has a good time there and could easily spend 4 hours. Yes, it is a bit expensive and it was too crowded as there were many of the play areas we could not access as they were occupied by others and I did have a thought that is this what I paid for! But, in the end what really matters is the kids have fun and my 3 and a half year old daughter did have a ball of time! She really remembers LEGOLAND as the only major thing from our recent Berlin memories and I am happy!
The boarding point was identified as the intersection of two streets, but there are actually four boarding points at that intersection, and crossing back and forth trying to identify the correct one in heavy traffic caused us to miss our boat. We were re-booked on a tour the next morning, but it was a bit of a hassle.
If you ever experienced the Bateaux Mouches in Paris, rest assured this is much better in any sense. It is much less crowded, it serves food and drinks, and the audio-guide is individual, free and VERY informative. Very pleasant ride!
Slow plod around the Spree, nice view, commentary struggles to fill the space at times and the waiter only system was a bit of a shambles. Probably not as much fun without the blue skies and warm weather
