What people are saying about Southern Region, Iceland

An excellent once in a lifetime experience I recommend for everyone!

We booked the Wild South Waterfalls, Black Beach & Glacier Hike package as part of our 25th anniversary trip and we had the time of our lives! Our guide, David, was fantastic. From the very beginning he treated us and the others on the tour like family, accommodating all of our needs! He went above and beyond to personalize the tour to our groups interest and abilities. He even went as far as recommending certain items at the restaurant we stopped at for lunch. We felt so comfortable and welcomed by David, and aside from all this the glacier hike, black beach and the waterfalls are once in a lifetime experiences we will never forget. Thank you David, and Nice Travel!

Amazing scenery, feels different to others parts of Iceland

This is a full day tour, I was picked up at 7:30am and got back to the city at 8:20pm Steve our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us some really good insight into the wonder of lannmannalauger. Our group were all experienced hikers so we opted for the more challenging route up the volcano and back down through the lava fields. Really pleased I choose an option to do this with a hiking guide as it would have been very easy to get lost in the lava field. It would have been made slightly nicer by having an extra 30 to go in the hot spring. Whilst I enjoyed this, I would of liked to relax longer in the hot spring after the hike.

The trip was excellent, we were so impressed about Iceland.

Our guide and driver, Mr. Hjalti Björnsonn was outstanding, really top-top. He took care about us on an excellent way till the very last minute, his knowledge about Iceland was fantastic! He gave us a few extra chances to see even more, than it had been promised. Everything was precisely organised, we were really satisfied. We do hope so, that he will be our guide our next Iceland trip again in sometime next February. The only remark is the overused and that's why a bit uncomfortable seats. After 2-3 hours travelling we were happy to stand up. The hotels were nice, most of them were really excellent.

Stunning location + charming and experienced guide (Matt) = BEST!

This was the highlight of my visit to Iceland. Our fun guide Matt created an exciting and safe (yet challenging) hike while entertaining us with many "fun facts" about Iceland's geology and geography, and perceptive comments about Icelandic culture, language, attitudes, and history. The hike is set in the beautiful highlands and the dip into the geothermal pond after the hike should not be not to be missed. The bus ride there and back was also comfortable and fun as the amazing bus driver expertly drove around some scary curves. This was the best tour ever!

Good hike in amazing location but lengthy bus journey there & back

Really good, knowledgable guide & relaxed pace hike in a stunning location followed by a very welcome dip in the hot springs. We were picked up & dropped off in Hella & it took 3 hours each way. The bus was fairly comfortable but the roads are quite bad in places. Not sure if it took longer than anticipated because of the state of the roads as we were told it would be 2 hours when we set off. It made for a very long day which was otherwise really good.
