A central square in Sorrento, the Piazza Tasso, is named for the poet Torquato Tasso of the 16th century. The communal space is perfect for people watching over a drink or two.
If you climb to the top of Mount Vesuvius, make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Unfettered panoramic views await, and the hike is well worth your time. Mount Vesuvius is best enjoyed on a clear day, as fog can obscure the view from the peak.

Sample a limoncello or a drink that favors the citrus flavor of a Sorrento lemon. The region has some succulent lemon trees. We also recommend trying the local olive oil while you're sightseeing in Sorrento.
Sorrento on foot is very scenic but if your feet hurt hop onto a city bus or train. You can also hire a taxi. To take a day trip, we recommend the trains and buses, though renting a car could be a fun way to see more of the landscape.

What people are saying about Sorrento
The boat tour was amazing, but our skipper did not seem very enthusiastic about the tour. He was a little bit rude and was not very engaging with all of us on the boat. The description said there would be snorkeling gear, but there were only 4 sets of goggles for 10 people. We had to ask to do the banana boat, it seemed like our skipper was just going to take us back to the dock and drop us off without the banana boat ride.
I felt the tour was well organise at the port , you had to while before you got on your boat , but facility's where ok. The boat was in good condition and the boat trip itself was good . The boat guide just listen to his music and smoked most of the time, popped his head out now again to tell us something about the island. You had 1 hour and a half to go around Amalfi and Positano which was a little rushed
The trip was great with nice time in the boat and swimming in ocean....Capri part felt too rushed as I would have liked to spend more time there....we had 4 hours in town but the lines for bus were long so We had less time for touring. I would highly recommend this trip if you only have one day for Capri....but if you have the time I would recommend spending at least two days in Capri
Would have been better if sights pointed out along the way. boat pilot not very communicative. Not good value for money.Only offered one drink- beer water or coke and one shot of limoncello. I would have expected drinks incusive for whole trip considering the cost of the trip. Also would have expected lunch included. we just got small tomato and mozzerala roll. disappointing.
Brilliant tour, our guide Lucia was brilliant had such knowledge of what happened at that time. Explained about the buildings & who lived there & how; small details that you would miss probably if you did it without a guide. Really didn't have any questions by the end as she had covered everything! Can not recommend this enough
