Southern Coast, Waterfalls & Black Beach

The tour was very well organised and within the schedule. Our driver Gunnar and guide Jakob was excellent. Jakob especially was amazing. He was funny, warm and narrated interesting stories, historical and mythical. His narration skills are pretty awesome. Keeps you engaged through a 10 hour trip and you would not know how time flew by between the different stops, which are sometimes hours apart. The only negative in the whole tour was that the poor weather didn't allow us to walk behind the waterfalls. But overall the tour was A-awesome and definitely recommend these guys and I can only assume that they would definitely be as good on the other tours they organize. Probably a differentiator is also the number of times Jakob stressed on safety, starting from buckling up in the bus, explaining emergency exits and to the moment you step out of the bus including buckling up on your flight back home. It was refreshing to see and really commendable.

our wonderful guide really made this a great experience

I didn't really know what we were getting into when booking this, only that i knew it was something that we had to try. We are from Florida, so glacier hikes and snow in general are foreign to us. But the staff at Arctic Adventures were so helpful and our particular guide, Zachy (spelling?), was wonderful! He was super patient and knowledgeable and just really cared about the whole experience. He will even make you dance! Thank you so much for getting us out of our comfort zones. Much love from Florida!

Stunning views. Group slightly too large..

.. which would not have been an issue if all participants were on similar fitness levels. Not sure if we had gone any further on the glacier without those lacking any form of physical fitness but like this is was more of an afternoon walk than the glacier hike I expected. Still: the views are absolutely stunning and Sólheimajökull worth the visit.

Seen a lot of different places in one tour.

It was raining and very windy on our tour, so the waves at the black sand beach were hugewhich was awesome to watch. We stood in front of one of the waterfalls and got soaked from the wind. Seeing the glacier and the small ice bergs below it was great.

Great experience with a great tour guide

Our tour guide, Adam, was very personable and knowledgeable. The tour was a great experiencing learning about the glacier, how they form, and how it's been impacted by global warming. Highly recommended for anyone travelling through Iceland.
