What people are saying about Sofia

Great experince - customized for us two persons with short notice.

I booked the trip very late. Just around 17.00 a´clock the day before departure — but it worked !! The Guide, Nicola did a great job. He was very generous with his personal enthusiasm and energy giving us a great experience. He did know a lot, but had also many interesting, (maybe not totally proven) theories and speculations. Bot he did know all the exact trip facts. He also gave/put the facts into a greater view of Bulgarian History. (He was clear what "facts" was not totally "academic" proven) + small "extraordinary facts (or speculations) making the guidance very lively — He "read us" very well — we also like to see the history the same way =perfect for us Summarizing Booked with very short notice we got at very good customized trip.

Loved it. Martin our guide was very informative and helpful.

The weather was fantastic. Bus was comfortable and even had wifi! We set off with Martin explaining very clearly what we would be doing, sharing his knowledge of the rich history Bulgaria offers. Fascinating. The Boyana Church - quaintly significant and certainly worth a look as the frescoes are over a thousand years old but 2 hours later nothing prepares you for the wonders and splendours of Rila Monastery. Fabulous. Highly recommended and by the way...Martin was kind enough to buy as all “Maritsa” - Bulgarian pastry (fried dough with a sprinkle of icing sugar) - delicious and I’ve been looking everywhere for it since! Thank you.

Definitely recommend this as a day-trip, the churches are a must-see!

This tour was very well organised from the start. We started off at the Boyana Church which is really interesting - you only stay inside for 10 mins at a time as per the church rules, so it was a whistle-stop tour, but our guide did a great job explaining the history. We were then taken to the Rila Monastery, which is absolutely breathtaking. It's very unusual in its decoration. Sadly we were unable to climb the defence tower, but this was still a highlight of our trip to Sofia.

A quick and easy way to see Plovdiv and Asen's Fortress in a day

Our guide, Michael, and our driver were great company. They were very friendly and our pick-up and drop-off were punctual and convenient. Our guide was very informative and helpful, recommended various ways to spend a few hours in Plovdiv, and gave us the freedom to explore on our own. Great to have had the opportunity to see Asen's Fortress to.

Great guide and g great introduction to the sights of Sofia

We had a great Jeep-tour with Phillip, who picked us up at a private address, showed us a lot of the Sofia sights and told us many interesting things of both ancient and recent Bulgarian history. Will definitely recommend this trip to all - even children will find this amusing, (there are seat-bealts for all)
