Full description
The journey begins in the Historic Center of Sintra as you meet your guide for the night, a local expert historian. From there, the adventure into the past begins as the hidden corners of this dark mountain come to life through your guide’s stories.

On the tour, observe from the outside a selection of Sintra’s most iconic monuments including the Royal Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Pena Palace, Seteais Palace, and a few others.

Learn about the Inquisition court, its ties to Lisbon, and how the people of Sintra were affected by this historical point in time. Listen to your guide share facts and information from reports, documents and memoirs of people who lived here during the Inquisition. The drama of these stories is heightened by the nighttime setting, and the looming woodlands all around act as the perfect setting for the journey through time.

Meeting point

At Volta do Duche (the street between the train station and Sintra's Historic Centre) you will find the Moorish Fountain in front of a zebra crossing. It is easy to find since people are always stopping to take pictures of the fountain. I will be on one of the sides of the fountain.
