What people are saying about Silvestri Craters
The trip was interesting, fun, and it allowed us to discover Etna’s mesmerising landscapes, as well as the delicious local culinary products. The tour’s logistics were well set in place. The car arrived at the hotel at the appointed time. Our guide, Salvo, was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and charismatic, answering all our questions and paying special attention to all the tour participants’ needs. We were also lucky enough to have clear skies, so we were able to watch the sunset from the top of one of the Silvestri craters, surrounded by very few other tourists. The colours were breathtaking and made the trip all worth it. It’s an experience that I would recommend to anyone coming to Sicily.
We had a lady guide Jacamo for this wonderful trip which my young son, Alessandro, said was definitely more exciting & fun coming from a lady. We learnt how to tell the age of lava flow, had our photo taken in the pit of a volcano crater, saw plants that only grew in lava & got to try the local 'fire water', pistachio liquor, different favoured honey, strawberry was delicious, flavoured olive oils, olives & sun-dried tomatoes. When the sunset, in the tour title, finally came, Jacamo took us to a place by Etna where we could truly appreciate the experience. Even Etna got in on the wonderful trip by sprouting fountains of fire, ending a perfect example of a Sicilian adventure!
One of the few tours I would rate a excellent. The trip was well organised. The honey, wine and oil tasting was an added bonus. The visit to the lava cave was made by our guide Salvo, as a very interesting and informative part of the tour. Finally the drive and climb to mount 'Good Giant' as Salvo calls his Etna, for a super sunset view was exceptional. Salvo imparts a lot of knowledge that you can easily absorb and remember. I recommend this tour.
Her multilingual skills were very good. The honey farm she took us too allowed you to try many etna foods including olives, oil, honey, breads, wines and more. Please note you do not have to climb very high and you will not reach the higher points (you won’t go on the cable car). Overall brilliant experience!
Etnatribe were very professional and took very good care of us. We needed to arrange a pickup where we could leave our car. Within just a few hours they got in touch and proposed that we meet at there offices where we could leave our car in a secure parking lot.
