Full description
Wine lovers will enjoy this full-day tour through the beautiful Tuscan landscape with stops to visit some typical local wineries. Explore the famous wine hills of Montalcino and learn about the process and passion involved in creating Brunello di Montalcino, one of Italy's most prestigious wines.

Your tour begins with a drive along the ancient Roman road from Siena to the famous wine hills of Montalcino. The first stop will be at a small, typical area winery where you’ll have a chance to walk in the vineyards, explore the cellars, and enjoy an introductory tasting of world-famous Brunello wine.

Next you’ll head to Montalcino, the hill town that gives its name to the region and its wines. Here you’ll have the opportunity to climb the fortress walls, spend some time browsing the shops and tasting the Brunello wines in wine bars, or simply enjoy the incredible views of the valleys and vineyards below.

After visiting the town of Montalcino the tour continues on to the stunning ancient mystical Benedictine Abbey of Sant Antimo, a special place in a tranquil setting.

You’ll enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch at a family-run winery, accompanied by the delicious wines produced at the facility. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the farm.

In the afternoon you’ll visit a third winery where you’ll get a detailed description of the wine-making process, and learn how the vines are cared for and about the long aging process in oak barrels. After visiting the cellars and getting to know the winemakers, you’ll sit down for a final tasting of this nectar of the gods.

LOVED this tour and our guide (Her name started with an M). This was a smaller group tour in a van which is what we were looking for (as opposed to a large group in a bus). We went to different regions with their own unique and beautiful qualities which made it feel like we got to see a lot in one day. If you are wanting a wine focused experience, then this is it. The small group was great and we got to learn and ask a lot of questions. We had lunch in a vineyard then there were light snacks at the other vineyards. We had an opportunity to walk around to see the fortress, Montalcino, and the Abbey. Wine plus great sights made it a great tour.

The experience was really good. Makes you understand how to approach to Montacino's wines. The guide, Georgia in my case(there were at least 4 more who took other ways), takes you in a van with a group of no more than 6 people to 3 vineyards, every tour is a different one so the experience is different form the other reviews. In my case we went to a very boutique vineyard first, then we went to a biodynamic vineyard and, in the end, to a very experimental one. The three were very different from each other, so the experience was super full of info and the tastings were amazing. We tried lot of wines from the region, from a very young Rosso to a Brunello reserva. I totally recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in knowing about Italian wines, regions, soil, food and get the best views of La Toscana.

The experience was fantastic, very useful from a practical point of view since I have a lot of interest in wine for work, but also and above all a lot of fun. We were the only Italians in the group, apart from our guide, so we always spoke English all the time. Despite this, the experience was very pleasant, indeed, sharing it with foreign people was much more engaging!
