Full description
Travel is the chance to experience the other, to step into another's culture and experience the wonders of the world around you. Cultural tourism is a delicate industry, and this tour strives to present you to a local village in a thoughtful and careful way, so as not to disturb their native way of life, while giving you an inclusive experience you will never forget!

On this tour, have the chance to explore and experience a unique village from the perspective of the villagers themselves. Take you deep into the communities around Siem Reap for a hands on experience, including detailed conversations during lunch and your day in the village.

The best thing about the tour is the commitment to bring you this experience in a non-destructive way. Many tour operators bring groups to villages, but this is special -- your guide was born in this village and works with the village chief to ensure your experience is one you cannot find anywhere else. Have the chance to snap photos and meet the locals, but in a way that most other tour groups fail to find -- with the permission and good will of those you are visiting.

The tour begins at 9:00 AM from your local guest house, where your expert guide will meet you and transport you via air-conditioned car or minivan to this amazing village approximately 25 miles (40km) from Siem Reap. Along the way, you will be given a detailed description of what awaits, with a detailed understanding of the villages you will visit. Learn how the communities work together, helping each other with daily activities and neighborly advice, and your expert guide will be there to answer any of your questions.

Once you arrive, enter into a working village where you can meet the local families who still weave baskets, dig wells, and make rice wine all by hand as they have done for centuries. Share lunch with your host family. It is a truly immersive experience.

As you continue your journey, you may have the chance to meet with a local teacher, or builder who is working to bring clean water to the community. The goal is to share with you the culture in a unique and appropriate way, and you will leave with a much deeper appreciation of these magnificent cultures around Siem Reap.

This was such a fantastic tour - highly recommend. First we went to a village school and gave out pencils and stationery to the children (bring some extra from home). Next, we drove through the village and stopped to watch a woman weaving a basket. We were also given the opportunity to look inside her home. After this, we went to look around a silk farm and then for lunch, we went to a village market and sat in a hut with hammocks to eat bbq chicken, rice and fresh fruit. Our guide on this tour was Hong and he was so knowledgeable about village life. His English was very good so communication was extremely easy. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you.

Amazing!

We really loved this experience! We were able to see how local, rural Cambodians live without being intrusive. Hong was a great guide and his family was so sweet! Sharing food and time with them was such a neat experience. I would whole-heartedly recommend this tour to people who want to see regular life in Cambodia with a local guide from the village.
