Full description
The cathedral’s transition from mosque to church, and continuous remodeling, make it truly unique. Built on the site of a 12th-century Almohad mosque, the cathedral features many decorative parts and no fewer than 80 chapels. It has the longest nave of any cathedral in Spain and a vast Gothic retablo of carved scenes from the life of Christ.

One part of the mosque that remains is the tower standing next to the cathedral, known as the “Giralda.” This was once one of the minarets of the mosque, and you can climb the tower for panoramic views of Seville from the top of one of the medieval city’s most important symbols.

The Jewish Quarter of Seville is the ultimate place to retrace the footprints of Jewish history in Spain. The exploration of this district is as crucial as the Royal Alcazar or Plaza de España in the fulfilment of the Sevillian experience. This entire neighborhood is a must-see when visiting the city. Cobbled streets, white-washed houses, cute shops and many dining spaces largely account for the widespread recognition of this particular Jewish neighborhood in Seville.
