Good experience, excellent tour guide, excellent service

It started very bad. For some reason they advanced our entrance time. I received the e-mail two hours before our normally tour starting time, knowing we have to drive more than one hour. So we arrived at our normal time, our tour already started. Another toor guide accepted us in his group. Lucky us! This guy, Paul, was the best guide I ever had. Intelligent, funny, anything you can expect from a guide. We couldn't ask him something he didn't knew, he answered all our questions. He helped anyone felt uncomfortable on the path or crossing the bridge. Excellent tour, superb view! In the end, surprise: our originally tour guide was waiting for us at the exit with drinks and food we had included in our tickets! Excellent service! Observation: at the beginning you have to walk trough a dark tunnel. I'm 186cm and, of course, I bumped my head on the ceiling very bad, starting to bleed. Be careful with this aspect! Overall a great experience, I would recommend to anybody.

Great trip but prepare for a lot of waiting.

The guide we had was very nice, engaging and knowledgeable! We highly recommend doing the hike, but it takes a good portion of patience. The hike didn’t start until 90minutes after we were told to meet. The system that gives visitors helmets and get them into the Caminito takes forever (apparently this is outside of get your guide’s control). It didnt seem like, when booking a guided tour, you get to skip the line or save some time as we had to wait 45min on a day in low season (February). At the end of the hike, you must take a bus to back to the restaurant where you meet up with your guide. This bus is not included in the guided tour but cost 1.55euro (cash only!!). It was a bit annoying that there was no information about this upfront and that this is not included in the guided tour as you must take this bus unless you want to walk for another 2 hours along narrow, winding roads. However, we highly recommend visiting the Caminito del Rey!
