Full description
The Korean Movie "Parasite" won 4 Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Original Screenplay. Most notably, it was the first foreign-language film to win the award for Best Picture in Oscars history. On this tour, visit some of the filming locations of this watershed film with a professional English-speaking guide.

Begin the tour with pickup at your hotel in Seoul and settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned transportation. First, head to "Seongbuk-dong,” seen when Ki-Woo goes to Mr. Park’s house for a job interview. The steep incline of the hill indicates the sharp social and economic disparity that will become the focus of the film.

Next is “Woori Supermarket,” where everything begins. In the film, Ki-woo and his friend chat and drink outside this supermarket, and Ki-woo’s friend recommends he takes a high-paying, part-time job in a rich family. From there, move on to “Stairs in Ki-taek’s village,” where Ki-jeong buys peaches to provoke an allergic reaction in Park’s original housekeeper, allowing Ki-Woo’s mother to become the Parks’ housekeeper.

Then, visit “the Stairs of Jahamun Tunnel.” This spot is seen in the film when the Parks return from camping to their home because of heavy rain, and it reveals the dark side of the city. Finally, stop at “Pizza Generation” and try a slice of pizza. In the film’s early scenes, the Kim family fold pizza boxes; as they earn very little money doing it, the difficult livelihoods of the poor are directly displayed.

At the end of your tour, don’t forget to take your souvenir of instant noodles home with you. Called “Ram-don,” the noodles also come with a recipe you can try cooking later. The tour concludes at the City Hall, leaving you in a great place to continue exploring Seoul.
