Full description
After an early-morning pick-up in Seoul, head off to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the strip of land between North and South Korea representative of the decades-long conflict on the peninsula. Your first destination will be Imjingpak Park, situated only 7 km from the Demarcation Line, and built in remembrance of the Korean War and in the hopes of reunification of the peninsula. Visit its observatory, monuments, and the Freedom Bridge, which was used to transport 13,000 prisoners home after the war.

Then, visit the Third Infiltration Tunnel, discovered in 1978, an incomplete tunnel built by North Korea into the South. Discovered after a tip-off from a North Korean defector, the tunnel was denounced by the UN as an act of aggression by North Korea - it had reached only 44 km away from the city of Seoul. Descend into history as you explore the tunnel yourself! You can also visit Dora Observatory, from which you will be able to view the Kaesong industrial complex, Kaesong's suburban area, and even Mount Songhaksan, all in North Korea.

Lastly, head to Dorasan station, the last station before the DMZ. If or when the peninsula is ever reunited, this will be the first station to connect the two countries - it is therefore a heavily symbolic area. In the afternoon, your tour will end with return transportation to Seoul where you'll be dropped off at City Hall Station (after making a stop at the Ginseng Center on the way back, if option selected).
