What people are saying about Selfoss
I has an awesome time rafting. It was fun / beautiful scenery. Drivers and guides were friendly, informative and concerned for our safety. I had a great sunny day. I was VERY dissatisfied with the Local Beer tasting experience. I was the only person doing Beer Tasting. There was a group of about 25 men that had a BBQ /glasses of tap beer/other drinks after rafting. The other 13 rafters had a beer/other beverage on own and didn't know about Beer Tasting. The guide gave me 4 beers, 2 bottles, 2 cans. I felt very overwhelmed, embarrassed and awkward with this situation, with all this beer. I maybe consumed 1/3 of each container, and offered it to others. I feel I wasted a lot of BEER and MONEY. I thought I was going to do this in a group and feel advertising was misleading. I would have been happy with 1 glass of beer like others. You should be more clear with advertisement of Beer Tasting or eliminate it, people can buy there own beer if they want, Rafting-great, Beer Taste poor
Our excursion was actually changed in advance to only a snowmobile trip due to flooding in the ice cave :( We were given the option to cancel, but what fun would that be? The guides were very knowledgeable and the snowmobiles and outdoor weather gear were in good shape. The guides were helpful and very careful to keep an eye on all members of our group. Since our group included people with varying skill levels, we were only able to explore a small section of the glacier in the time allotted. It would be great to be able to join a group with only more advanced riders in order to make the most of the day.
James who picked us up from the Reykjavik Lights hotel Friday 16th Feb was the best, if it wasn’t for James we would never have got to enjoy our day...... how he got us there after Gullfoss I will never know, big pat on the back James and thank you to all the team for looking after us on Friday. I have posted pics on Facebook to show All at home how much we enjoyed our day as well. Thanks again to all Wayne and Mandy Packman
Breathtaking views of the Glacier while driving the snowmobile. The cave is a natural one made by the water (not man-made like others). After leaving the Glacier we went to the Golden Circle and saw much of it... we did so much that we had con change the next day tour that was going to take us again to the Golden Circle (change it for the Norther Lights instead).
We drove here straight from the airport fairly exhausted after a very early start to our day and quite wary of braving the elements to get into the pool. But all anxieties disappeared as the hot waters washed away our tiredness and relaxed us for our first evening. The cost was minimal in comparison to the more commercialised Blue Lagoon. Highly recommended.
