5 things to bring on a Seine river cruise

The Seine might be one of the world's most scenic urban rivers, flanked by exquisite monuments such as Notre Dame and the Arc de Triomphe. A cruise is the best way to enjoy it as long as you don't forget anything essential! Here's what to pack.

Windproof jacket

Even if all's calm on the City of Love's streets, its river is exposed and highly susceptible to strong winds. Even in summer you might need a good jacket!

Sun screen

Again, the Seine is exposed and so are you. If you're not seeing the sights by night, you'll want to see them on a sunny day. Keep yourself protected!

Camera

Many of Paris' most famous sights can be seen by boat, opening the door to some fantastic photo opportunities. If you have them, enhance the experience by bringing binoculars too!

Sandwiches

Unless you're taking a dinner cruise of course! But even then you should think about bringing your own water bottle.

Somebody you love

Corny? Perhaps. But hey, it's Paris! Why not check out some other tour options to round off a romantic day?

What people are saying about Seine River

Brilliant to hop on and off to see major sights

This was brilliant for sitting and watching Paris go by along the river Seine as well as getting you from one area of city to another without walking or taking the metro. Very reasonable, the staff were very helpful and professional, and there always seemed to be a batobus coming along every 10 mins or so, so didn't have to wait long. We used it over 2 days.

Awesome. Just below the lit up Eiffel Tower.

We went in the evening. Easy access. 3 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Exceptional views. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day in Paris! Paris at night is gorgeous! It was great to have a mobile ticket.

One of the best things we did in Amsterdam!

I highly recommend this cruise. The staff is super nice, pizza is huge and tasty, alcohol is unlimited (although I wouldn't order the wine, everything else was fantastic). The guide was really cool and fun.
