What people are saying about Santorini
This trip was very well organized. It is affordable because there are about 75 people on each boat. But they've got handling this number of passengers down. Taking this cruise is a nice way to see Santorini from the sea. You will be hiking rocky paths so make sure to wear tennis shoes, not sandals. You'll have an opportunity to buy lunch on Therasia. There are several restaurants at the port and there are also 2 restaurants at the top of Therasia. The hike up Therasia is strenuous but the view from the top is definitely worth it. The only suggestion for improvement I'd make is in the music played while sailing back to the port on Santorini. Not sure why they couldn't play the original versions of the songs they were playing (e.g. Bob Marley) instead of elevator music versions. Also the lyrics for one of the songs was not something I'd want my kids to listen to (e.g. killing girlfriend in bed). Music artist suggestions: Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Temptations, Beach Boys, etc.
We sailed with Captain Leo on the Boat Caldera. Our trip took us to the Hot Springs (and yes it is warmer if you swim all the way in -but the water is very orange do not wear white) and had a nice swim before heading to the light house, white Beach (snorkeled) & Red Beach (snorkeled). The views were breath taking and cruising along with the wind in your face was so relaxing. We had a wonderful bunch of people on our boat, but it was not crowded at all, we all talked and had a great time! The staff Ziko, Maria & Hossain made us with huge meal of Chicken, fish, shrimp, spaghetti & greek salad plenty for everyone & very tasty. Maria was very engaging offering everyone something to drink & then getting us to even dance on the boat! I would recommend booking with Spiridakos - Boat Caldera we have went on many catamarans this was by far my favorite. No problems with pick up, all went smooth - thanks again for a great time!
From the time our guide picked us up, until drop off, we had the best time! The amount of knowledge that our guide had of the island, and the entire wine making process was so interesting and thorough. All three wineries were equally beautiful and the wines and snacks were awesome. Our group of 8 was very intimate and we enjoyed great conversation. This was one of our favorite things we did in Santorini, and would definitely do it again if we return!
Maria was a fantastic guide - very knowledgeable and passionate about wine. The wineries we went to were interesting and showcased a lot of different varieties. It was mostly inside, which was good considering the hot weather. The food pairings were a treat also. We would recommend this tour to any of our wine-loving friends!
Our tour guide Maria was amazing!! The driver was polite and fun! From start to finish she listened to what we wanted to do as well but was sure we saw all parts of the island we could from the highest peak to the wine tasting at the end it was a great time’!!
