I and my parents have a good time in Porto. 24 hours before our tour, I was informed by fax about pick-up time at the hotel next morning. Excellent local guide, friendly and caring about all members of the group (my parents have mobility problems and cannot walk fast). Much interesting information not only about Santiago (our destination), but also about Portugal and Spain. Time for sightseeing is never enough (!), nevertheless, we managed to take a small tourist train and went around Santiago city. Although, it was a time of worship in Santiago de Campostela, and many visitors and pilgrims were queing to enter Santiago Cathedral, we managed to have a quick look inside of the Cathedral. Lunch was also very well organised. Spanish cuisine. We could not count all dishes served, but absolutely all were tasty.Visit to small town on the boarder Portugal - Spain on the way back to Porto was also included. Small place packed with restaurants and shops surrounded by beautiful architecture. 5*
Our tour was excellent! Nuno was very kind and friendly. Soon after leaving our hotel we were chatting as an old friends. But Nuno was very professional as well. He told us many historical things about Saint Santiago and the story about building the church. We arrived sharp on time to go to the church and to listen to the mess. On our way home we stopped to the little village Valenca and we had a walk and visited the church Saint Steven with the two painted pictures. Thank you for the organization of the tour, thank you for sending us Nuno, who is very bright and competent. Best regards Iliana Mitreva on behalf of four ff us
We had a great day with our guide Jonathon. He was informative pointing out various areas and interests along the way. We arrived in Santiago in time for mass which was packed with pilgrims and tourists and enjoyed a delicious lunch away from the crowded streets. We had time to wander then visit the old fortress on our return to Porto. A great day out which was well paced.
It was a good experience overall. Pedro, the guide gave us information and history all the way to Santiago. Santiago is worth visiting. Pity it was a short stay and the cathedral is restoration. Lunch was very good, too. The visit to Valença de Minho too was good. Loved the fortified city.
Our driver Nuno was exceptional and seemed to know everything about Portugal history. He was very accommodating to our requests and chose a fabulous restaurant for our trip. We would highly recommend this tour through Living Tours and we think you will enjoy it as much as we did.
