Full description
Perfectly positioned between the cool air of the Pacific Ocean and the soaring temperatures of the eastern valleys, the vineyards of California's Central Coast offer a unique opportunity for both the discerning wine lover and the first time taster alike to enjoy award-winning vintages at small, family-owned establishments. With the help of a knowledgeable local guide, this small group tour will take you off the beaten path and onto the charming, rustic country roads surrounding Paso Robles for a fun-filled day full of wine, food, and sunshine.

Depending on which option is selected, your small group boutique wine tour starts with a complimentary pick-up from a meeting point in central Paso Robles. After meeting your guide and introducing yourself to the rest of your group, it's off to the wine country for the first of four tastings. Throughout the tour, you will sip bold reds and crisp whites as you learn the history of the region and the secrets of growing the best grapes the new world has to offer. Explore the vineyards for scenic photos and a deeper look at the work behind making wine, from growing the highest-quality grapes to aging in oak barrels for up to two years. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a winery, but for those who can't wait, a local cheese platter and bottled waters will be served on the bus between stops.

After three winery stops, you will end the day at Tin City, a multi-venue industrial market where you can stop in for a fourth and final tasting or, if you are looking for something different, a craft beer, local cider, or gourmet snack to take with you to dinner - the choice is yours! The Central Coast offers an affordable, relaxed, explore-at-your-own-pace atmosphere providing access to top quality foods and beverages without the pretense and the crowds of a Napa or Sonoma Valley. It's the perfect tour for first time visitors to the region or locals looking to better explore their own backyard!
