At the height of Prohibition during the 1920's Alcatraz was the end of the line for the country’s worst criminals: Al ’Scarface’ Capone, the kidnapper George ‘Machine Gun’ Kelly, Harlem gangster and poet ‘Bumpy’ Johnson, and Morton Sobell, who was found guilty of espionage along with Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. Listen to the award-winning audio guide which paints a picture of daily life in the prison.
