Full description
Wander through the ancient groves of coastal redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument and walk along the quaint sidewalks of Downtown Sausalito on this relaxed half-day tour. Muir Woods National Monument is an old-growth redwood forest located only 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge. After a pick-up from a central San Francisco hotel, head north over the bridge and into the Marin Headlands. If the fog is clear, you might get a chance to stop and take some pictures of the bridge up close! When you arrive in Muir Woods, take an hour and a half to roam through this ‘living museum’ where you can glimpse the towering trees that used to dominate the west coast from Santa Barbara to Washington. After exploring Muir Woods, hop back in the coach for a quick ride over to Sausalito. Enjoy a 15-20 minute, narrated in-coach tour through the beautiful seaside Mediterranean-style town, and then some free time to walk around! After about 45 minutes in Sausalito, hop back in the coach for a trip back across the Golden Gate Bridge, or opt for a ferry ride back to San Francisco. You'll be dropped back off at your pick-up point. This half-day tour is a great way to see all the highlights of the northern San Francisco Bay in a limited amount of time.

Well worth booking this tour

We had a great guide, who knew the area well and was able to stop at a view point over the Pacific as the weather was perfect. We went in the morning and it was a lot quieter in Muir Woods, and much more peaceful, so would also recommend getting up that bit earlier.

This half day tour was great! Muir Woods is a must see when visiting the Bay area. It was breathtaking to walk among these Redwood trees, my husband and I both wished we could have stayed longer! Our tour guide was great and provided us with a lot of knowledge about the area. I recommend booking this tour if visiting Muir Woods as it would be difficult to get their on your own.

Wonderful time!!

My 10 year old son wanted to re-create our trip to Muir Woods/Sausalito from when he was a baby! We truly enjoyed our time and got to relax by not having to drive the windy, foggy road up to Muir Woods. Max was a great driver and tour guide offering us historical facts of the city. We highly recommend Max and this tour company. He was very friendly and professional. I even called ahead of time requesting that we sit in the front due to carsickness and they ensured us it was possible. We will definitely book this tour in the future.
