Full description
Start your tour of Salvador in the morning and visit the historic sites of the UNESCO World Heritage city center. See colonial mansions and monuments, and experience some of the history of Brazil's first capital.

Marvel at monuments such as the fort and lighthouse in the traditional Barra district. Go to Campo Grande Square, site of a monument to Bahia's independence from Portugal, and see the 19th-century Lacerda Elevator that connects the upper city and lower city. Look at the ornate facades of the Rio Branco Palace, Catedral Basílica de Salvador and Church of St. Francis of Assisi (Convento e Igreja de São Francisco).

Admire the colorful houses of the triangle-shaped square of Largo do Pelourinho, and see monuments such as the church of Ordem Terceira do Carmo. Visit one of Salvador's most popular attractions at the lake of the Dique do Tororó, and see beautiful tiles in the Ribeira neighborhood. Go to an ice cream store in Ribeira, and look at the Bonfim Church, Montserrat Fortress and Mercado Modelo

Enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant and savor the unique flavors of Bahian cuisine. Continue in the afternoon in the Cidade Baixa, and discover some of the gorgeous landscapes of the Bay of All Saints in the port area.
