Full description
After being collected by your guide from your accommodation in Sa Pa at 7:30 AM, you will depart by bus to Bac Ha Market. The journey from Sa Pa to Bac Ha Market is 110 kilometers, and you will arrive in Bac Ha by approximately 10:45 AM. This is an opportunity to discover the diverse highland market, with many varying ethnic groups coming down to the market to exchange commodities such as vegetables, sugarcane, clothes, buffalo, cows, and pigs. It is also quite common for young people to come here to find the lover, with these Sunday markets available as a forum to meet and chat together.

This is the largest and most famous upland market in Vietnam. It is only held on Sunday from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a variety of wares on display. The clothing, language, and people all differ, with Mong flower people, Tay people, Nung people, and Dao people all in attendance.

After visiting the Bac Ha market, the group will focus on returning to the bus to visit the Pho Village, a small village of the Mong flower people 2 kilometers from Bac Ha town. This is a chance to learn clearly from a local house about the customs of the indigenous people here. You will be able to walk around the village for about 20 minutes, before returning back to the bus. Once departing Pho Village, you will progress onward to Lao Cai city, where you can visit the border gate to China (Ha Khau border), before viewing the Mau Temple and returning to Sa Pa at 5:00 PM.

The market was interesting. The guide was knowledgeable and very informative. However, too much time was spent traveling. We spent more time on the road than sightseeing. Even so, the tour was cut short in order to accommodate some guests who had an early bus to catch to their next destination. It would be good if the time allocated for the trip is a little longer.

The market was fine, with most people selling the same thing that you could buy cheaper in Sapa - like most tourist markets - and Hmong people we met were amazingly dressed with great smiles when we stopped to chat. The “tour“ through the market would have been better if a little org used, or if we were given time to explore by ourselves too. We had to ask about the livestock market to be taken over to see them. The drive there and back is a long one that feels even longer when the tour guide seems to talk without stopping or need for a breath, for 3 hours. Not talking to the group FYI... to the driver or on the phone. It was painful.

Interesting market where you can see live buffalo, horses, pigs etc that were on sale. There's even dogs for sale as pet. You can see the different tribes selling their hardware etc. Very unlike other market I had visited
