What people are saying about Royal Mile

Great experience, shame about the large group

Hostess was fab and very much got into her role, shared some interesting information which was great for the beginning of our trip as it really set the scene for the history of Edinburgh. However, we went on a Monday evening and was extremely surprised by the large group who accompanied us, there was 40+ people which on a tour with one speaker caused some issues...if you weren’t at the front you couldn’t hear a thing when in the grave yard, such a shame as we missed a lot of info/stories. Not sure if the day tours are less busy? The vaults were great, went into 2 separate vaults and was really able to grasp the history. Would recommend watching some stuff online just to prepare as we weren’t aware there was poltergeist activity in one of them...my partner wasn’t very comfortable but both felt surprisingly calm. Aside from the large group, definitely would recommend as a must see and experience if visiting!

A spectacularly spine chilling and informative walking tour.

This was an eye opener! Our tour guide was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining. He had a red beard and pony tail. I should have remembered his name but it’s not my strongest character trait. We walked through cemeteries and learned about some of the very unsavory practices that went on years ago. We Also learned the origins of many sayings... such as ‘A stiff drink’ and the ‘The Graveyard Shift’. We then walked uphill to a magnificent view of the city and learned about the persecution of many ‘accused’ witches. I would not have faired well having both red hair and a large birthmark on my back. A very scary thought indeed. We then saw some unfinished architecture (which I preferred that way). Our tour guide was FANTASTIC! It was a throwback of yesteryear in the Old Town of Edinburgh. I highly recommend this tour..,, just wear your walking shoes!

Educational, entertaining, full of heart & humor—thoroughly enjoyable!

Stephanie was fabulous. We learned that LittleFish tours is a young company that was started by friends and they are like family. What they have going works! Stephanie was passionate about her subject and delivered information with dramatic flare and humor that kept us engaged from beginning to end. I would recommend this tour to anyone and if walking is a problem, they can meet you at the castle so you can conserve your energy for the castle.

Lauren and Karis were brilliant tour guides and great fun

Brilliant tour, Lauren and Karis were great fun and really played their parts well. Can’t be helped, but the sounds of Minnie the moocher and Nina Simone did kill the eerie vibe in the vaults. But overall I would recommend this tour.

Excellent tour full of humour along with interesting historical facts.

Excellent tour full of humour along with interesting history. Steff has an easily understood Scottish accent making the 1 1/2 hours we spent with her even more authentic!!
