What people are saying about Rotorua

Lovely walks around the thermal park - other worldly terrain. Not so sure about the short lived, manually induced geyser activity. If you have seen any other geysers, give it a miss. If you do go either walk from visitor car park otherwise you have to move your car (along with everyone else) from the geyser car park to visitor centre as the geyser car park is locked after the "spectacle".

It’s an incredible place- don’t go there for the geyser at the moment though as there’s been no rain so it’s more of a sprinkle than a geyser and the whole geyser site is a Man-made tourist Nightmare. The park is out of this world- I’ve never seen anything like it. The smell of sulphur is overwhelming at times so take a scarf to wrap around your face if you have an acute sense of smell!!

This is literally one of the most incredible places I have ever experienced. The sights, sounds and smells are is sensory overload! The place is extremely well organised and the information given is simple enough but very informative. In my opinion, this place needs to be on everybody’s ‘must do’ list if they are within striking distance

We arrived about 10am and decided not to see Geyser after reading others' reviews. It was nice & quiet for thr forest 45mins or so. I visited here 15yrs ago and the colours were brighter then (photos prove it so not just dewy eyed youth!) but it's been so dry for months the water levels are quite low. Still breathtaking though.

First experience at a spa and this was amazing! Get the deluxe version as you have semi private pools to enjoy along with a changing room complete with showers, towels, hairdryers and toiletries. The pools were clean, hot and roomy with beautiful views of the lake. This is a must do in Rotorua!
