Well organised, considering there was a lot of people. It was very orchestrated but I guess it had to be. The show was interesting, the host funny and very entertaining, food delicious and plentiful. Program was: booked in, seats allocated, programme explained introductions made, see hangi meal unveiled and explained, walk to see war canoe being paddled by warriors singing in full regalia, move to seated performance area, then onto eat, small forest walk with glow worms. Good except Bill our group leader was difficult to understand - he held the microphone too close to his mouth and even as English people we struggled to work out what he was saying. How the people with English as a second language coped I cannot imagine. He also got a bit ‘heavy duty’ towards the end of the evening and it went from being informative to a bit of a political rant. All the other guides and staff were really good, friendly and well informed; happy and eager to provide us with all we needed to know about Maori culture and history.
