For the Vatican, skip-the-line ticket is a must. The ticket lines are insane but with this tour ticket I could walk right in. Enter from the museum access entrance. Do not wait in the line, just go to the entrance and show your voucher to the guard and they will let you in. After the security check you enter a hall, there is a tour desk on the opposite side of it. Go there and show your voucher, they will give you a ticket and tell you the meeting point for your tour. The meeting point will be right next to the desk. You will be picked up for the bus tour from there. There are also toilets if you need one before the tour. Bus tour is fun and audio guide good. Interesting experience as Vatican is chaos but the gardens are not, there are very few people there. After the bus tour you are just left to the museums (inside). It was a bit hard to know where to go, there was no map given, and the museum is HUGE with literally thousands of people.

Beautiful bus ride

We took the 09.45-ride, which was perfect (late June). There wasn’t really any queue, and it was easy to find. You definitely have to buy tickets in advance, if you don’t want to wait in a queue in the sun! The bus ride was really beautiful, and personally I think it’s a must when visiting the museums :-)

No Guide for Museum

An audio guide was provided on the bus for the garden tour. Nothing was provided for the museum, other than the skip the line ticket. Purchased a worthless audio guide in the museum. After the first gallery, we couldn't find the codes listed anywhere. The codes on the gallery name plates were for different audio guide systems. BTW the gallery names on the name plates didn't match those on the audio guide map, except for the Sistine Chapel. Still worth the cost just to skip the line.
