Full description
Meet your guide on Tiber Island in the center of Rome, the only urban island of the Tiber river. Together, start the tour in the medieval side of Trastevere. Your guide will take you to the Church of Santa Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, and your first stop will be in one of Rome's oldest bakeries.

Trastevere remains very traditional and boasts the presence of many old-school craftsmen and traders. Discover their  work, unchanged by modernity, like the cold cuts store where you can taste salami and cheese cured in the local Italian tradition.

Explore the magnificence of Santa Maria in Trastevere, the biggest and most important church in the district. Keep on walking and enjoy the atmosphere of Trastevere, strong along its alleyways to get to the Piazza Trilussa, named after a famous Roman poet from the last century. Bring your camera with you to catch the shape of big Cupolone, the Saint Peter's dome that reveals itself by Sistus Bridge, before closing the tour with the grand finale, a tasty handmade gelato cone.

A very informative tour with great food stops. We were lucky enough to be the only ones that evening, so we had a private tour. You truly immerse yourself in the Rome of the Romans. Many of the specialties we tasted were new to us, so it was a great experience. Great tour to discover this beautiful district and try new culinary delights. We found our guide Simone very personable. It was great fun with him. We recommend.

The food tour is great as you get history and food in one package. We did the morning tour starting at Campo d’Fiori, so you’ll get to taste a variety of pestos, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, then it moves on to the standard tour (pizza & beer, fried rice ball, fried artichoke, antipasti & pasta dishes with wine and a gelato). Overall we walked about 3.5km. Our guide was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. I’d recommend to skip breakfast if you go to the morning tour.

Fabulous tour with great guide. Doing one tour? Do this

Excellent tour to a part of the city I could have missed in a short visit. Knowledgable local guide (which is important) who took us to shops we might have found diffficult with limited language skills. We learned about the area and it’s history and enjoyed the chance to visit small craft shops. Make sure you are hungry when you do this tour. The food is very filling!
