Meet your guide for a morning tour of the Vatican museums, Sistine chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Wander the vast corridors and galleries of one of the most important museums in the world, touring in a group of no more than 30 people.
Go to the spectacular Cortile del Belvedere and see the historic maps of ancient cartographers in the Gallery of Maps. See beautiful tapestries by Raphael’s students in the Gallery of Tapestries. Then, gaze in awe at Michelangelo’s miraculous frescoes in the Sistine chapel. Enter the most important Catholic church in the world as you look inside St. Peter's Basilica and see Michelangelo’s “La Pieta.” End by Bernini’s colonnades on St. Peter’s Square.
In the afternoon, transfer to the Flavian amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum and explore the largest amphitheater ever built. Learn more about the Roman emperors and gladiators and the bloodthirsty battles put on for the Roman citizens.
Next, go to the heart of ancient Rome and see the ruins of temples in the Roman forum. Climb Palatine Hill for panoramic views of where the ancient Romans met to trade, worship and conduct their political affairs.

Prepare for the activity
For the Vatican Museums tour in the morning, meet at Viale Giulio Cesare 229 (in front of the cinema 'Giulio Cesare'). For the Colosseum tour in the afternoon, meet at the entrance of the Colosseo metro station (on line B), opposite Colosseum Square. You will find your guide between a green kiosk and the fountain. For the Colosseum tour in the afternoon, the starting time depends on the time of year: • Until March 29, 2020: 1:30 PM • From March 30, 2020, until May 17, 2020: 2:30 PM • From May 18, 2020, until October 25, 2020: 3:30 PM At both meeting points, look for your guide holding a sign with the name of the local partner on it.Open in Google Maps ⟶
