Full description
Journey through time at the stunning archaeological site of Pompeii, and get a unique insight into life in the Roman Empire.

Depart Rome and travel along the Highway of the Sun, admiring the countryside of Lazio and the Castelli Romani along the way. Get incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Vesuvius as you approach the Gulf of Naples.

Stop for a traditional Italian lunch, and then make your way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii. Get fast track entry on arrival with your skip-the-line tickets, and then spend the afternoon exploring this once thriving city, frozen in time by layers of volcanic ash in 79 AD. Buried under a layer of pumice stones and ash up to 19 to 23 feet (6 to 7 meters) deep for 17 centuries, Pompeii was able to survive the ravages of time and the destructive effects of climate and heavy weather.

Very punctual driver for our pick up at the hotel, and in a very nice car. Very friendly guide speaking English, Spanish and even a little French. However we only have 2 hours to visit the archaeological site and it is much too short. We had to run a little to see a lot of things, and despite that we could not see everything. We can only fly over the whole and it's a shame.

Quiet and safe ride through the beautiful landscape, from Lazio to Pompei with a short stop on the Bay of Naples. True bus tourism, you have to transfer there. Once in Pompeii you will be taken to a restaurant. The food is delicious, but the service is outrageous, the starter is not cleared and pizza and dessert are thrown together on the table. The service is downright rude. Pandora charms are moored in the hall that are not part of the real collection, so fake. Nevertheless, the food is tasty. Once inside Pompeii, you know what you did it for. The guide takes you to the most beautiful places and gives a clear explanation about life in Roman antiquity. Fantastic!! Finally the long bus ride back ... three hours (2x). Good organization, very friendly guide and excellent driver. Beautiful antique site.

Connection and bus were great, just a shame that they did not have a German audio guide with them, well English was fine. Pompei and Naples is worth the trip, lunch was great. Only the price is a bit high. But on the whole everything was great.
