Full description
Sigulda un Turaida is one of Latvia’s most beautiful cities and home to fascinating sites such as the Castle of Turaida and Sigulda, the Gūtmaņa Cave and the Aerial Cableway. On this half-day tour, you'll be introduced to lovely Latvia and some of the best sites it has to offer!

You'll start your tour at the Aerial Cableway. Оpened in 1969, this aerial cableway is the only one of its kind in the Baltic states and offers spectacular views over Sigulda.

The Sigulda Castle Ruins and the new Castle are the next stop. Here you can learn about the history of the fortress following the defeat of the Brother of the Sword in 1236. During the Great Northern War, the castle was destroyed and never restored completely, leaving these historic ruins free for you to explore.

The Gūtmaņala (Goodman's Cave) grotto is the most popular and vast cave in Latvia. It was formed in the course of 10,000 years by water gradually eroding sandstone. Gūtmaņala is most notable for inscriptions on its walls, the oldest of which date back to the years 1668 and 1677.

A visit to the Turaida Museum Reserve is not to be missed. The 42 hectares of grounds are replete with archaeological, architectural, historical and art monuments, all of which provide an account of the events from the eleventh century onwards.
