Full description
Start your action-packed, 2.5 tour of Reykjavik by walking towards Hallgrímskirkja, a massive church with a strikingly unique facade that stands as one of the tallest buildings in Iceland. Check out the statue of Leifur Eiriksson, an Icelandic Viking era hero who is credited with being the first European to arrive in America. Make your way up the bell tower for panoramic views of the city.

Your next stop is the lovely Einar Jónsson sculpture garden where you will learn the basics of Norse mythology before strolling through the quaint streets of Thingholt neighborhood towards the City Pond. Continue on to Reykjavik City Hall and view a super-sized topographical map of Iceland while your guide introduces you to the fascinating geological profile and volcanic history of Iceland.

Thread your way through the heart of the city, taking in views of the Alþingi Parliament House, the modest but beautiful Reykjavik Cathedral, and the site of the first Viking homesteads in the city.

End your walk at the Old Harbor which offers views of the impressive Harpa Concert Hall having seen all the main Reykjavík highlights and gained local insight into Icelandic life.

I never would have thought that a city tour can be so much fun. Lalli is an amazing tour guide. He is very honest and he knows so much about the city. And you can feel that this job is his passion, he really enjoys telling stories! He provides so many funny, inspiring and interesting stories and also gives some secret tips, e.g. which one is the cheapest supermarket, which restaurant you should check out, etc. I really loved the tour! I had only one free day besides work in Reykjavik and I am so happy that I chose to do this tour!
